# Element Ordering

> Drag and drop to rearrange the vertical order of clock, notification icons, timers, and other items beside your cursor.

Proximate displays its cursor items in a vertical stack. You can rearrange this stack to put the information you check most often closest to your cursor.

## Reordering Elements

Open **Settings → Appearance → Element Order**. You'll see a draggable list of all active elements. Drag any item up or down to change its position in the stack.

The available elements are:

* **Clock**
* **Apps** (notification icons)
* **Timer**
* **System Stats** (only visible when [experimental features](/experimental/overview) are enabled)

The default order is: Clock, Apps, Timer.

<Tip>
  Your ordering preference is saved and persists across restarts. If you enable experimental features later, any experimental elements will appear in their previously saved position.
