When Proximate is running on your computer, you'll see its **"Cursor + Items"** icon appear in your menu bar (macOS) or taskbar (Windows). The icon changes shape to indicate Proximate's current state. ## Active — items visible Proximate menu bar icon: cursor pointing up with three filled squares The mouse pointer is pointing **upwards** and the three squares are **filled**. Proximate is activated and on-screen items are visible. This is the state you'll see most of the time. ## Active — items hidden Proximate menu bar icon: cursor pointing up with three empty squares The mouse pointer is pointing **upwards** and the three squares are **empty**. Proximate is activated, but on-screen items are currently hidden. Don't forget — you've toggled visibility off. ## Unlicensed Proximate menu bar icon: cursor pointing down with crossed-out elements The icon looks "broken" — the mouse pointer arrow is pointing **downwards** at the elements and crossed out. Proximate is not licensed correctly on your computer. Either your free trial has ended or your license is no longer valid. To fix this, you may need to update the payment details on your billing method.
