Proximate puts the information you need right where your eyes already are — next to your mouse cursor. Instead of glancing at the menu bar, taskbar, or a second monitor, everything stays with you as you move across your screen.

What Proximate Does

You’re always in control. Proximate only monitors the apps you explicitly add to your watch list — nothing is tracked without your permission.
Proximate turns the area by your mouse pointer into a heads-up display that follows you across your screen. You choose what appears in it:
  • Notifications — Choose which apps to monitor for notifications. When one is triggered, you’ll see that app’s icon appear by your mouse pointer. It will disappear by itself when you go to check on the app. You can also get notifications by your mouse pointer for command-line tools, build scripts, and AI agents with Advanced Integrations.
  • Clock — A configurable clock showing time, day, date, and optionally a second time zone.
  • Timers — Set countdown timers with visual styles (text, radial arc, or linear bar) and color stages that shift as time runs out.
You can reorder and reposition these elements around your mouse pointer, control how visible they are with transparency modes, and fine-tune appearance details like fonts, colors, and outlines. Keyboard shortcuts let you show or hide all elements, wipe notification icons, instantly center your cursor on-screen, and control timers without touching the mouse.
Proximate also includes a set of experimental features — a pixel ruler, color picker, system stats monitor, and window magnet — that you can opt into from Settings.

Pricing

Proximate includes a 14-day free trial so you can explore every feature before committing. After the trial, a paid subscription is required. You can manage your subscription from within Proximate’s Settings or from the billing portal.
